Man stabbed during fight at Brisbane ferry terminal

A teenager is spending the weekend behind bars, accused of a stabbing attack in Brisbane.

It’s alleged the 19-year-old was part of a group that became involved in a fight with another group of people at the Thornton Street Ferry Terminal at Kangaroo Point, around 6.15pm on Saturday.

“During that altercation, a 27-year-old man received a stab wound to the abdomen,” Police explained in a statement.

The 19-year-old man ran off, but was found by police a short time later in Mains Street.

He was questioned overnight and charged with unlawful wounding.

He was denied bail to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

The injured man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries..
