Man stabbed in buttocks during violent robbery along Gold Coast road

Gold Coast police are calling for help as they investigate a violent robbery in Robina on Friday night which saw a bike rider stabbed in the buttocks.

A 36-year-old man was riding an electric bicycle along Cottesloe Drive around 10.30 pm on May 6, when he became involved in a road rage incident with the occupants of two separate vehicles.

During the altercation, the man was assaulted with a metal pole and stabbed several times with a knife in the buttocks.

The occupants fled the scene with the man’s belongings and the bike and remain on the run.

Members of the public came to his aid and he was taken to hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area between 10 and 11 pm to come forward, especially if they have any footage of a green or white sedan or a person riding an electric bicycle.

Investigations are continuing.
