Man stabbed in neck after ‘disagreement’

A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being stabbed in the neck at a house in Sydney’s west.

The 44-year-old was allegedly knifed in the arm and throat by a 47-year-old man following a “verbal disagreement” at a home on Burley Road in Horsley Park about 8.30pm on Saturday.

Police said the victim attended Fairfield Hospital before he was transferred to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Hospital staff notified police and, following inquiries, a crime scene was established at the Burley Road home.

The 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene a little over an hour later, about 9.45pm.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man, who police confirmed is known to the victim, was remanded in custody overnight and due to front Parramatta Bail Court today.
