Man stabbed in neck at motel

A MAN will appear in court on Monday, charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing another man in the neck at a motel on Queensland’s Fraser Coast.

Police said the victim was stabbed multiple times in the back and throat at a motel on Charlton Esplanade at Hervey Bay about 7pm last night.

The man was rushed to Hervey Bay Hospital in a critical condition, police said. His age and current condition is not known.


A 47-year-old man from Townsville was arrested and has since been charged with one count of attempted murder.

He is due to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday, November 5.

Police have not revealed if the accused is known to the victim.
