Man stabbed in neck with broken bottle

A MAN has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in the head and throat with a broken bottle at a service station in Sydney’s northwest.

The victim, aged in his 20s, was found bleeding from his head and neck at the West Ryde servo on Victoria Road shortly before 11pm last night.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Royal North Short Hospital in a stable condition.

It’s understood the victim was approached by another man who struck him with the broken bottle following an altercation, police said.

A second man, who police say is known to the victim and also aged in his 20s, was arrested at the scene and taken to Ryde Police Station.

As investigations continue, anyone with any information that could assist police with their investigation is urged to come forward.
