Man, 21, quizzed over Surfers slashing

UPDATE: A 21-YEAR-OLD man is this afternoon being interviewed by police after a man was slashed during a violent brawl in Surfers Paradise overnight.

A group of up to six men are alleged to have been involved in the fight at the intersection of Watson Esplanade and Peninsula Drive around 11.30pm on Sunday.


During the altercation, a 27-year-old Surfers Paradise man received a slash wound to his chest and forearm.

He presented himself to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police investigations are continuing.

EARLIER: POLICE are this morning investigating what sparked a violent brawl in Surfers Paradise last night which left one man with multiple lacerations to his chest and arm.

It’s understood up to six people started fighting near the roundabout of Watson Esplanade and Peninsular Drive around midnight.

A man, believed to be 27, suffered a number of non life threatening cuts to his chest and arm with an unknown weapon.
