Man stumbles into hospital after being stabbed in road-rage row

A major investigation is underway after a man was stabbed in the back during a violent road rage attack in Sydney’s west today.

The violent scenes unfolded around 5.40am on Wednesday, when a 48-year-old man and his 24-year-old passenger were driving along Wallgrove Road at Eastern Creek in a ‘Thrifty’ rental truck.

Police have been told the pair became involved in a verbal altercation with another driver in a dark coloured sedan.

“At the intersection of Wallgrove Road and Wonderland Drive, both drivers got out and during a physical altercation the sedan driver produced a knife, stabbing the older man in the back,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The injured man drove himself to Mt Druitt hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Investigations into the road rage attack are continuing, with police still searching for the driver of the dark coloured sedan.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area or may have dashcam vision to contact Mt Druitt Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
