Man stabbed multiple times in the neck, chest after answering front door

A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a horror knife attack on the Sunshine Coast.

Police said the 53-year-old was attacked by two men after answering a knock on the front door of his Low Street home at Yandina just after 11.30pm on Thursday.

Police said the man was stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest in what appeared to be a frenzied ambush.

A team of paramedics worked to try and stabilise the victim at the scene before rushing him to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Police said the man was transported in a critical condition.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to come forward and contact Policelink on 131 444.
