Man stabbed, school locked down on northern Gold Coast
A manhunt is continuing on the northern Gold Coast after a man was stabbed in a brawl that also forced a local school to be locked down.
Police were called to Flowers Dr in Coomera around 8.15 on Tuesday morning following reports of a fight between two men who were known to each other.
A 30-year-old Coomera man was stabbed several times in his left arm and chest.
He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A 23-year-old man fled the area on foot sparking a major manhunt in the suburb.
He’s believed to have escaped in the direction of Picnic Creek State School which was briefly placed into lockdown as a precaution while Police swarmed the area.
The lockdown has since been lifted.
Police are continuing to patrol the area as they search for the 23-year-old.
