Man ‘stabbed several times’ at Gold Coast prayer meeting

A MAN is due to face court today, charged with stabbing another man at a prayer meeting on the Gold Coast.

The attack happened in Southport, just before 1.00pm on Sunday.

“It will be alleged a man approached another man as they were both at a prayer meeting and stabbed him several times in the abdomen.”


A 29-year-old man was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment, however police say his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

A 28-year-old Southport man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
