Man suffers burns in generator explosion on Gold Coast

A man has been injured after a generator exploded on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

It happened at a location on Wirildar Drive in Elanora just before 3.00pm.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson told myGC the generator was on a trailer when it erupted into flames.

Thankfully it didn’t take crews too long to put out, with the fire now fully extinguished.

One man, whose age is not known, suffered burns to his arm and leg in the explosion.

He was treated on scene by critical care paramedics and has since been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
