Man sustains severe head injuries after being hit by car

A MAN has been rushed to hospital with severe head injuries after being hit by a car on the Sunshine Coast.

It’s understood the man was attempting to cross Nicklin Avenue at Currimundi when he was struck about 4am.

Police said a vehicle was travelling north along Nicklin Avenue when it struck the man near Erang Street.

The man sustained serious head injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.

He was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
