Man threatened with rifle as thieves steal car from Tallai home

Police are searching for a man who threatened a Tallai local with a rifle before stealing his car on Tuesday.

It’s understood the owner of the vehicle return to his home around 5.30pm in another car when he noticed a white Mitsubishi sedan parked in his driveway with a woman in the driver’s seat.

The man also saw his garage door had been forced open.

When he approached the car a man came from the garage and threatening him with a rifle.

The owner of the house got back into his car and reversed out the driveway onto the street.

The white Mitsubishi then left the driveway followed by the victim’s Nissan Skyline GTR which was been driven by a second man.

The vehicle is grey in colour with Queensland registration 162TDI.

The woman is described as Caucasian, medium to long hair, mid to late twenties and a slim build.

The man with the rifle was wearing a white t-shirt, shorts and is Caucasian, mid to late twenties, short black hair, dark facial hair, and a medium build.

The man was not physically hurt during the incident.

The vehicle was sighted by police on Shailer Road, Daisy Hill at about 8:30pm.

Police are urging anyone who has information in relation to the matter or sees the vehicle to contact Policelink on 131444 but not to approach the vehicle or people.
