Man to face court after Christmas siege
A 36 year old man is due to face court today after a 12-hour Christmas day siege in Southport.
He is charged with attempted murder, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Police allege the man fired a shot at a vehicle on Anne Street at around 11:30pm Wednesday evening, before leaving the scene.
Officers were then called to an Anne Street address a few hours later after disturbance reports, deciding to block off areas around a White Street unit complex.
It is alleged the man then fired another shot inside the White Street unit.
He surrendered himself to police without harm just before 11am.
