Howes father was overheard telling his son to “stay strong and to just tell the truth”, before the matter was adjourned until January 12.

EARLIER: A man will face court today after being charged over the brutal stabbing murder of teenager Michael Brack.

The 23-year-old was charged after a dramatic arrest on Monday afternoon where police officers climbed onto the roof of a Bundall home to reach the man who was hiding in a roof cavity. He remains in police custody and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today charged with one count of murder.

When asked if the pair were knew each other, Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson wouldn’t go into too much detail.

“It’s probably too early for me to say that at this stage but they certainly moved in the same circles.”

Sixteen year old Brack died on Saturday night after he was stabbed multiple times in Bundall.

It’s believed Brack and his friends had arranged to meet someone at the Sorrento Shopping Village on Saturday night.

A short time later he was heard going from door to door in nearby streets pleading for help from strangers.

Someone eventually came to his aid but it was too late. The teenager died at the scene.

Detectives are continuing to speak to a number of people about the incident and are trying to locate the murder weapon, which is still missing.

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on crimestoppers.com.au.
