Man wanted after punching Gold Coast bus driver in the face over food dispute

Police have released photos of a man they’re looking for, in relation to a horrific assault of a bus driver in Broadbeach.

The 58-year-old driver was punched in the face while parked at the Broadbeach South Light Rail Station on Sunday, January 31 around 8.40 am.

Initial investigations suggest that the driver was talking to a man on the bus about eating food on board.

The man then punched the driver once in the face, which caused the driver to suffer a bruised eye, a bloody nose, and a small laceration.

Police have now released photos of the man believed to be involved, and are asking for anyone who recognises the man to be in contact.

He’s described as Caucasian, approximately 170 centimetres tall with a slim build and very short hair. He has tattoos on his right forearm and right calf.
