Man who drove over, killed father at NSW cemetery to face sentencing

A MAN accused of running over and killing his father at a Sydney cemetery will face a sentence hearing today.

John Giannasca, 59, is alleged to have drove over his father whilst visiting his mothers grave at Rookwood cemetery in December 2014.

Giannasca pleaded guilty to negligent driving occasioning death and will face a sentence hearing at Burwood Local Court today.

Giannasca was found not guilty in 2012 of the murder of his wife, Carmel Giannasca, 33, who disappeared from her family home at Gladesville in January 2002.

Her body has never been found.

Mr Giannasca waited three weeks before he informed police his wife was missing.
