Man who forced partner to drink mould remover appears in court

A man accused of forcing his partner to drink mould remover has appeared in court via video link this morning.

Robert Rowe did not apply for bail and it was formally refused when he appeared via video link in Waverley Local Court on Thursday charged with reckless wounding, using poison to inflict grievous bodily harm and administering a poison with intent to cause distress to a person.

Mr Rowe allegedly pushed his partner to the floor during an argument and forcibly poured bleach down her throat.

The woman was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital with  chemical burns to her throat and damage to her lungs.

The man’s lawyer told the court her client intended on pleaading not guilty to three domestic violence charges against him.

The case returns to court on January 14.
