A MAN armed with an axe and a knife has been arrested at an Anzac Day service in South Australia.
The 41-year-old was detained at a beachside dawn service at Henley Beach in Adelaide.
In a statement, SA Police said officers stopped the man after spotting him walking along Seaview Road carrying a bag with a wooden handle sticking out of it just before 7am.

While searching the man bag, police allegedly pulled out an axe and a knife.
The man from Kilkenny was arrested and charged with two counts of carrying an offensive weapon.
Police said at no time did the man threaten anyone or pull the axe or knife out of the bag.
He has been released on bail and will front Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in June.
