Man with stab wound charged after trying to punch nurse

A man has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a nurse at a hospital in Sydney’s west.

About 10pm Wednesday 30 September 2015, the 28-year-old man presented himself at Liverpool Hospital with a stab wound to his neck.

Police attached to Liverpool Local Area Command were contacted by hospital staff.


On arrival, officers questioned the man who refused to provide details of the incident.

South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad conducted an extensive search of the nearby area including surrounding licensed premises, streets and the railway station, however, no crime scene was located.

While being treated at Liverpool Hospital, police will allege the man attempted to punch a male nurse before leaving without receiving medical assistance.

Police attended a home on Simmons Street, Warwick Farm and arrested the man.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with common assault and breach AVO.

The man was refused bail, and will reappear at Liverpool Local Court on 12 November 2015.

Inquiries into the malicious wounding of the man are continuing.
