Man, woman in hospital after fiery Gold Coast crash

A couple has ended up in hospital after a car caught fire following a collision at Pacific Pines.

It was one of a series of accidents across the Gold Coast and the Hinterland that has kept paramedics busy overnight and this morning.

Two cars collided on the corner of Palmerston Drive and Manra Way around 6pm on Saturday night with the engine of one of the vehicles bursting into flames.


The fire was contained to the engine bay with firefighters quickly on scene.

Paramedics checked over five people with a male and female in their 60s taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Three others declined transport to hospital.

A woman has had to be rescued after crashing her car down an embankment at Beechmont this morning.

The female was trapped for some time after the crash on Beechmont Rd around 5.50am.

She was freed with the help of QFES before being transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Meantime a man in his 20s is in a stable condition after crashing his car into a pole at Coomera.

It happened at the intersection of Foxwell Rd and Oakey Creek Rd just before 12.30am.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a Critical Care Paramedic on board.

A teenager has suffered shoulder and leg injuries after a car rolled over at Tamborine.

The accident happened on Vonda Youngman Drive around 9.50pm on Saturday night.

Three occupants of the car managed to free themselves from the vehicle before emergency services arrived.

The male teen was taken to the Uni Hospital in a stable condition.
