Manhunt after driver does a runner from serious Gold Coast crash

Police are hunting a man who allegedly fled the scene of a serious crash at Tallai on the Gold Coast.

It’s understood a silver Holden Commodore was travelling eastbound on Wallandra Road around 8.50am on Friday, when the driver lost control and veered onto the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle then ploughed into a white Ford Territory ute between Bendigo Crescent and Marcus Way, near Ingles Park.

“The driver of the Holden Commodore left the scene on foot before police arrived, walking in a westerly direction,” Queensland Police said.

Thankfully the driver of the Ford managed to escape relatively unharmed and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to come forward.

They’re also asking any residents in the area who may have CCTV footage to please contact police.

The police still haven’t found the person who hit my husband and fled the scene. Even after giving them his registration number, description of the vehicle and eye witnesses.
