Manhunt after failed armed robbery in Sydney’s south

There has been an attempted armed robbery in Sydney’s south.

About 10.30pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to a licensed premises on George Street, Mortdale.

Police have been told two men walked into the building with a firearm before threatening staff members and demanding cash.


One man ran off as the other man was put under citizens arrest.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to St George Hospital with minor injuries, where he remains under police guard.

No one else was injured.

A short time later police located a vehicle, believed to be connected to the incident, at Acacia Avenue, Oatley.

Police arrested two men and a woman, they are being questioned but no charges have been laid at this stage.
