Manhunt launched after woman held up at knifepoint in Burleigh

Police are hunting a man accused of trying to rob a woman at knife point at Burleigh Waters.

It is alleged he grabbed her bag, ripping it and causing everything inside to fall out on Classic Way at around 4:20PM on Friday afternoon.

The man then hopped into the passenger side of an older model black Toyota RAV 4 station wagon which was last seen travelling down the wrong side of the road on Christine Avenue.

The woman wasn’t injured.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance with a fair complexion, approximately 175cm tall, short light brown hair and fat build.

He was wearing a white t-shirt, light yellow cargo shorts, light coloured baseball cap, aviator style sunglasses and pressure bandages on both arms.

Investigations are continuing.
