Manhunt underway following horror Gold Coast road rage attack

A violent road rage incident and robbery on the Gold Coast has landed a man in hospital, and sparked a police investigation.

The horror attack happened at the Smith Street and Napper Road intersection in Arundel yesterday just before 12pm, after a vehicle allegedly rammed up the back of a 68-year-old Parkwood man’s car.

The other driver exited his vehicle and began attacking the 68-year-old man, repeatedly punching him in the head through the open car window.

Police say the attacker then got back into his car and drove away, only to return to continue the bashing a few minutes later.

The victim attempted to flee from his vehicle but the assault continued on the street before a witness intervened.

The attacker then fled but returned for the third time and stole the 68-year-old’s phone and car-keys, and attempted to steal his dash camera.

The victim suffered facial injuries and was transported to Gold Coast Hospital in a stable condition.

The violent robber remains at large with investigations continuing.
