Manhunt underway on the Gold Coast after nurse allegedly kidnapped by armed men

A MAJOR manhunt is underway on the Gold Coast after a nurse was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint and robbed by up to four men.

It’s understood that around 3.30am, a 25-year-old nurse was standing outside Pindara Private hospital at Allchurch Street in Benowa when he was confronted by a number of men wearing balaclavas and armed with knives and a handgun.

He was allegedly forced into the boot of his own vehicle and driven to an ATM at Parklands Drive in Parkwood where he was made to withdraw a sum of money.

He was then driven to a home in Ashmore where the men dumped the vehicle and fled in another stolen car, which crashed not far down the road.

The nurse was rescued from the boot of the car by neighbours and taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

One of the offenders was caught by police in Mingaletta Drive at Ashmore, while the others remain on the run.
