Manny Pacquiao touches down in Brisbane
Manny Pacquiao touched down in Brisbane on Monday morning ahead of his July 2 world title fight with Australia’s Jeff Horn.
The 38-year-old admitted he knows little about his opponent ahead of their WBO welterweight bout at Suncorp Stadium but it was more about proving he is still a force in the boxing world.
“I want to defend my crown and to prove I am still there in boxing – I am not done yet in boxing,” he said to the media at Brisbane Airport.
Pacquiao is juggling his sporting career with a fulltime job as a Philippines senator.
“Despite my business in the office as a senator I am still handling my boxing career,” Pacquiao said.
“Boxing is my passion. I started when I was young – it’s part of my life.”
Pacquiao is an overwhelming favourite against Horn and he had a brief message for his Aussie opponent.
“Work hard, show you are in 100 per cent condition on July 2 so we can entertain the people,” he said.
