Man’s body found after being swept away in Qld floodwaters
Queensland’s wild weather has sadly claimed the life of a man, after he became caught in flash flooding on the Southern Downs.
The 69-year-old was believed to have been moving his cattle to higher ground at a property along Condamine River Road in Killarney overnight, when tragedy struck.
According to police, the farmer and his vehicle became caught up in the rising flood waters and were swept away.
A desperate search was launched for the man, however, he was found dead inside his vehicle about 100 metres downstream.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
