UPDATE @ September 26, 6.00am: Police are investigating after the body of an elderly man was found in the Gold Coast Seaway on Monday afternoon.
The alarm was raised about 2.30pm, after a tinny was spotted circling near Wavebreak Island with no-one on board.
Two jetski riders called police 15 minutes later when they noticed a body being washed out of The Seaway in rough conditions.

Water Police, with assistance from the Polair chopper, managed to find the body about 90 minutes later and bring it to shore.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are ongoing.
EARLIER @ September 25, 4.30pm: Gold Coast police are trying to identify a man whose body was recovered from The Seaway this afternoon.
The alarm was raised about 2:30pm when a tinny was spotted circling near Wavebreak Island, with no-one on board.
A couple of jetski riders called police 15 minutes later when they spotted a body being washed out of The Seaway in rough conditions.
Water police and the Polair chopper found the body just before 4:00pm and are still trying to find out who the man was, and how he came to grief.
