A MAN has had both of his legs completely severed after being hit by a train in Taree, New South Wales.
The 18-year-old was struck by the railway carriage at about 4:30am on Sunday morning.
Once emergency services turned up to treat the young male it is alleged they were attacked by the victims friends and family.

Paramedics were pushed and verbally abused whilst emergency vehicles had windscreens smashed.
Inspector Fidock said the fact that they were abused whilst trying to save the life of a young man is horrific.
“It is horrific to have to deal with that and then deal with alcohol-induced friends and family. And they are having a go at the cops and ambulance officers.
The man, who was celebrating his 18th birthday party at a nearby home was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Police have put out an appeal for witnesses who can help them with information about the incident.
