FIVE teenagers have been charged after they allegedly threatened a man with a hammer and knife before stealing his car in Sunnybank yesterday.
The terrifying carjacking happened about 2.00pm, when a man stopped his vehicle in Mulgowie Street.
“The man was approached by four males who threatened him with a hammer and knife and demanded the keys to his car,” Qld police said in a statement.

“The man complied and the boys fled in the car, a Mercedes-Benz E400.”
A few hours later, the stolen car crashed into a parked car in Acacia Ridge, with the teens running from the vehicle.
Two of them were found nearby by police, with another two taking off in a stolen Mitsubishi Magna which was being driven by a fifth teenager.
POLAIR was called in to track the car, which came to a stop on a rural property at Darlington around 5.45pm.
Three teens were taken into custody at the scene.
All five young men, two aged 16, two aged 17 and one aged 18, have since been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
