A MAN has been charged after allegedly bashing a driver over the head with a hammer, fracturing their skull during a savage road rage attack in Sydney’s west.
The victim – a 65-year-old man – was found with horrific head injuries, lying on the road next to his Holden ute following the attack on Ettalong Road in Auburn about 3.40pm on Thursday.
Police have been told the victim was struck in the head with a hammer by a much younger 25-year-old man who he’d become involved in a fight with following a road-rage incident.
