Margot Robbie, Alec Baldwin depict Donald and Ivanka Trump on Saturday Night Live

Live from New York, Season 42 of Saturday Night Live premiered last night with a reenactment of the Presidential debate and an all-star “Political Family Feud” sketch.

Alec Baldwin – sporting a bright orange spray tan, wind-swept blonde hair, and that iconic pout – delivered arguably the best Trump impersonation throughout the campaign.

Baldwin sniffed and spluttered, referred to China as “Ji-na” and regularly interrupted Hillary, who was portrayed by SNL’s Kate McKinnon.

Baldwin is signed on to play Trump up until the election, as announced by NBC last week.

Also delivering outstanding impressions were the all-star cast in the segment of “Political Family Feud”.

Kenan Thompson hosted the game as Steve Harvey, with Team Trump including Margot Robbie as Ivanka Trump, Kate McKinnon as campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, Bobby Moynihan as Chris Christie, and Beck Bennet portraying Vladimir Putin.

Team Clinton featured Darrell Hammon as Bill, Melissa Villaseñor as Sarah Silverman, Cecily Strong as Lin-Manuel Miranda, and a repeat appearance from Larry David as Bernie Sanders.

Robbie, who hosted the episode, also called for Australia to legalise gay marriage, by wearing a black t-shirt with the slogan “Say ‘I Do’ Down Under”, and a map of the country in rainbow colours.

The t-shirt is part of a campaign promoted by Kylie Minogue’s fiance Joshua Sasse.
