Massive delays on M1 after multi-vehicle smash

UPDATE @ 2.30PM | A man’s been hospitalised and delays are easing, after a multivehicle crash on the M1 this afternoon.

It happened in the southbound lanes through Nerang just before 1.00pm, blocking multiple lanes and causing gridlock for afternoon commuters.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where they briefly assessed a man in his 60s.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with some minor chest pain.

Delays have slowly eased over the last hour, but it is still slow moving through the area.

EARLIER @ 1.15PM | Anyone travelling southbound on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon is being warned of long delays.

A number of vehicles have collided on the M1 at Arundel, causing traffic gridlock for the afternoon run home.

One person, reported to be a man in his 60s, is currently being treated at the scene by paramedics.

Thankfully he appears to be stable, suffering only minor injuries.

Delays are currently banked up from Pacific Pines back to Coomera.

Yep another M1 crash which was caused by another incompetent driver.
Happens almost everyday and we put up with it!
Driver will be fined a couple of $$$ and allowed back on the road unchecked.
Time for these people in the wrong to be re tested to make sure they are capable of driving and understand that a license is a privilege not a right to create carnage or even death on our roads.
