Investigations underway after massive fire destroys Gold Coast brothel

UPDATE @7.00AM | Fire investigators will return to the scene of a massive blaze in Bundall this morning, which destroyed a well known Gold Coast brothel.

Emergency services rushed to the business on Upton Street around 4.30am, to find the ‘Silks’ building fully engulfed.

It took fire fighters at least an hour to get the flames under control, and they remained on scene until 6.20am.

Paramedics were also on standby but luckily no injuries were reported.

Police blocked off Upton Street while emergency crews worked to extinguish the blaze and make the scene safe.

Officers remain there this morning, and the fire investigation unit will attend later on to try and determine the cause of the fire.

EARLIER @4.45AM | FIREFIGHTERS are working to control a massive blaze which has ripped through a well known Gold Coast brothel.

The fire broke out at Silks on Upton in Bundall around 4.30am on Tuesday, spilling smoke into the air.

Numerous crews are at the scene on Upton Street working to contain the blaze.

Motorists are being warned the street has been blocked off by police until the area can be made safe.
