Massive landslide closes major Gold Coast hinterland road
Wild weather is continuing to wreak havoc across the Gold Coast, with a major road in the hinterland closed following a major landslide.
Large boulders have come down onto Tamborine Mountain Road at Witherin, with Queensland Police sharing photos of the debris on social media.
The road, known locally as the goat track, was closed in both directions overnight and remains closed this morning.
Police said it is expected to remain shut off to motorists for a significant amount of time, with drivers urged to avoid the area.
