A massive sinkhole has opened up in the backyard of a home in Ipswich.
Owners of the Coal Street home in Basin Pocket were left shocked when they discovered the six to eight metre hole on Tuesday morning.

Engineers have since been called in to assess the damage.
There are reports the sinkhole may have been caused by underground mines.
