Mayor Tom Tate to face CCC inquiry

It is time for Mayor Tom Tate to be grilled by the Crime and Corruption Commission as part of their inquiry into the 2016 Local Government elections.

The CCC is looking at the conduct of councillors on the Gold Coast, in Ipswich and in Moreton Bay.

Mayor Tate will give evidence on Wednesday.  Deputy Mayor Donna Gates and Councillor Cameron Caldwell will also be questioned.

Federal Member for Fadden Stuart Robert has already faced the ‘crime watchdog’.  He has faced questions about the ‘Fadden Forum Fund’.

He told the hearing he wanted to donate to the council election campaigns of two former staffers to keep Labor out of his electorate.

He admitted lobbying the Fadden Forum to secure funds for employees Kristyn Boulton and Felicity Stevenson for their campaigns.
