OVER 900 guests frocked up to attend the Mayoress Ball held at Jupiters Hotel & Casino on April 5th, but only one walked away with a brand new car.
Main Beach resident Sharon Timoney was the lucky winner of a Volkswagen Polo at the event, after purchasing one of 300 tickets in the major fundraising raffle.
“I’m absolutely delighted. It was really exciting to win,” she said.

Today she was officially given the keys to her brand new car at James Frizelle’s Gold Coast Volkswagen in Southport.
Ms Timoney said she will be using the manual car to help teach her teenage children how to drive and to zip around town.
Mayoress Ruth Tate said over $150,000 was raised at the Ball this year, well up from the Inaugural Ball in 2013.
The money will be donated to worthy local charities YHES House, Rosie’s, Surfers Paradise Anglican Crisis Centre, Havafeed and OzHarvest.
