McDonald’s manager struck in the head with axe in shocking attack

A MAN has allegedly walked into a McDonald’s restaurant in Sydney’s inner west and clubbed the young manager over the head with an axe in front of horrified customers.

The terrifying attack took place at a McDonald’s store on Parramatta Road at Croydon just after 12.30am today.

It’s alleged a man carrying an axe with a red and white bandana wrapped around his face walked into the restaurant and confronted the 19-year-old male manager.

Police said the man swung the axe at the employee, striking him in the head, before leaving.

It’s understood he was hit with the blunt side of the tool.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

Police are still desperately trying to track down the man responsible for the attack.

It’s believed he had been involved in an argument with the 19-year-old McDonald’s manager earlier in the night.

He is described as being Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance with a medium build.

Police say he was wearing a light blue t-shirt with white chest motif, blue tracksuit pants, dark shoes, and a red & white bandana covering his face.
