Mel Gibson cleans up at 6th annual AACTA Awards

Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge may have won most of the major awards at the 6th annual AACTA Awards last night, but the Australian industry also took the time to honour two of its own.

Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan was presented with the Longford Lyell Award for his outstanding contribution to the screen, while Isla Fisher won the Trailblazer Award.

The Wedding Crashers actress stayed true to form with a hilarious speech that mostly poked fun at herself, including a thank you to Donald Trump for showing the world it’s OK for unqualified orange people to be here.
