Men injured after falling down eight metre hole on the Gold Coast

Two men have been rushed to hospital after they fell down an eight metre hole on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to a location off Young Street in Southport around 1.30am on Sunday to rescue the pair, both aged in their 20s.

Queensland Ambulance said one of the men sustained a head injury and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The other sustained suspected spinal injuries and was transported in a serious but stable conditions to Princess Alexandra Hospital with High Acuity Response Unit on board.

It’s unclear at this stage exactly what kind of hole the pair fell down.

Investigations into the incident are now underway.
