Mid air medical emergency sparks unscheduled landing

A plane flying from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi has been forced to land in Perth, due to a mid-air medical emergency.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said a woman in her 30s was taken off Etihad flight 461 on Perth Airport’s tarmac and transferred to Royal Perth Hospital according to Nine News.

The flight touched down in Perth at 2.45am on Wednesday.

Nine also reported that Etihad revealed that a female passenger “became ill inflight,” forcing the plane to divert to Perth for medical attention.
