Middle-aged man accused of masturbating in front of kids in small NSW town

POLICE are searching for a middle-aged man who allegedly exposed himself to three children and started masturbating in front of them in a small town in southern NSW.

The three girls, aged 12 and 15, told police they were walking along the Old Hume Highway at Mittagong around 5.10pm on Friday when they heard a man yelling at them.

The man, described as being aged in his 50s or 60s and having a large obese build, allegedly beckoned the girls closer before exposing himself and committing an indecent act.

“When one of the girls attempted to take his photo the man ran from the scene up Albert Lane,” police said.

It’s believed the same man was seen moments later fleeing the scene in a small silver-coloured four-door sedan.

Police were called straight after but, despite searching the area, were unable to locate the alleged offender.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 50 to 60, with a tanned complexion and a large/obese build.

At the time of the alleged incident, he was wearing a yellow shirt, black board shorts, a black beanie and thongs.

Investigators are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident, or has information about the man, to contact Bowral Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
