EARLIER @6.30am: Whale watchers are set to flock to Gold Coast beaches in hope of seeing the famous white humpback Migaloo.
The white whale is expected to pass through Gold Coast waters this week after being seen at Port Macquarie on the weekend, and off Lennox Head on Monday afternoon.
Migaloo and friends are making their way north to calve and mate, as part of their annual migration to warmer waters.
This humpback migration season will see about 27,000 whales travel from southern waters past the Gold Coast to the tropics and back until November.
