Miranda Kerr latest celeb linked to massive money-laundering scheme

Australia model Miranda Kerr has joined actor Leonardo DiCaprio on the list of celebrities caught up in a US Justice Department investigation into money-laundering.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel has had to hand back around $10.6 million worth of jewels given to her by Malaysian financier Jho Low.

US Federal Agents allege the items are linked to a massive money-laundering scheme involving Malaysian sovereign wealth fund, called 1Malaysia Development Bhd, or 1MDB..

Low’s accused of laundering more than $525 million stolen from 1MDB through an account in the United States.

Earlier this month, DiCaprio turned over an Oscar won by Marlon Brando, along with other gifts given to him by Low.
