It’s believed a group of four friends went swimming just before 4.00am this morning, when one of them didn’t come back out of the water.

Despite a large scale search involving local police, the NSW Ambulance helicopter, Surf Rescue NSW and Water Police, the search was called off after members of the public spotted a naked man walking down a road at North Bondi.
The search lasted not even one hour.
Officers picked him up and returned him to the scene at Bondi Beach, where it was confirmed he was the one missing.
He was briefly assessed by paramedics as a precaution, though did not have to be taken to hospital.
