A STUNNING sea of kissing couples has flooded New York City’s Times Square, to re-enact the famous photograph celebrating the end of World War II.
The embrace between a sailor and a woman on August 14, 1945 was captured by photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt, but he was in such a hurry to get the image to print, he didn’t get the names of the couple who remain a mystery.

But, that just adds to the romance of the moment the world relaxed upon hearing news that Japan had surrendered.
You could never get that feeling back, but hundreds have tried, turning out in replica outfits and having a smooch.
