Monster cannabis crop worth $5.5m found growing on NSW Riverina farm

A MONSTER cannabis crop worth $5.5 million has been found growing on a farm in the NSW Riverina.

Police from Strike Force Elkmont executed a crime scene warrant at the Males Road property at Colinroobie just before midday on Thursday.

During a search of the farm, officers allegedly located and seized more than 2,500 cannabis plants, two shotguns, two rifles, ammunition and a stash of cash.

Police said the cannabis plants had an estimated potential street value of $5,500,000.

Three men, aged 47, 54 and 80, were arrested at the farm and taken to the Griffith Police Station where they have each since been charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of prohibited plants.

The trio was refused bail to front Griffith Local Court on Friday.
