More people wanted over Brisbane crime figure’s fiery death

UPDATE @ September 5 2017 12.50pm |  Police have revealed, two more people are wanted in relation to the alleged murder of a Brisbane drug baron.

It comes just hours after David Charles Edgerley faced court to have his charge upgraded from manslaughter to murder.

It’s alleged the 34-year-old doused Victor Graveson in petrol while he slept at his Alexandra Hills home last Friday, before setting him alight.

The 65-year-old notorious underworld figure suffered burns to 80 per cent of his body and died in hospital overnight.

Edgerley will return to court on September 25.

Meantime, Police have released images of a man and woman they believe could assist with the investigation.

Police are appealing for anyone who may know the whereabouts of the 33-year-old man and 44-year-old woman (both pictured) to contact them.

EARLIER @ September 4 2017 12.30pm | The man accused of setting a Brisbane underworld figure on fire while he slept, is expected to have his charge upgraded to murder, with the victim not likely to live.

Victor William Graveson was doused in fuel and set on fire at his home in Alexandra Hills on Friday morning.

The 65-year-old suffered burns to 80 per cent of his body and remains on life support, but is expected to die in hospital.

David Charles Edgerley was due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with attempted murder, but the matter was adjourned.

Prosecutor Peri Cardiff said it was just a matter of time before Mr Graveson “will pass away”.

“No further surgery will be conducted,” Ms Cardiff said, explaining the family was informed on Sunday of the expected outcome.

“(The family do) not wish to turn off life support, however were accepting of removing drugs other than pain relief and slowly decreasing (Mr Graveson’s) oxygen intake,” she said.

Edgerley did not apply for bail and will remain behind bars until his next mention on September 25.

EARLIER @ September 2 2017 7am | A man is preparing to face court, accused of trying to kill a reported underworld figure.

It’s alleged the 34-year-old poured an accelerant on a 65-year-old man, who was asleep in bed at a Brisbane home on Friday.

Police say the incident happened at a property on Teesdale Road at around 9am.

The victim, who has been named as Victor William Graveson, ran from the home with flames coming off his body.

They were extinguished by a neighbour, before emergency services arrived.

He suffered burns to 80 per cent of his body and remains in a critical condition in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The 34-year-old Kooralbyn man has been charged with attempted murder to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
